Welcome note

Yes - finally I found some time to tell you what I am doing here. Firstly... My name is Agnieszka. I came here from Poland.
I had many months to prepare myself to EVS but that time has passed so fast and suddenly I found myself in Magdeburg. To be honest, my first impression was not so good. Actually, I was terrified – language that I cannot understand, people that I have never met before and such a long way home…

But since that time it is getting better and better each day. I have just finished intensive German language course and I notice that I can understand more and more. My flatmates as well as the other volunteers turned out to be really great people. We meet other young people and students from Magdeburg and have a lot of fun together. That is why I am writing my welcome note after a month!

We had organized Sprachcafe two times so far. Maybe I am not able to speak German yet but it is a pleasure for me to meet people of various cultures. For me this is a big adventure and very enriching experience.

Maybe the most important thing I should write here is why I decided to be a EVS volunteer. Well… After years of studying, now it is the time of making decisions – what do I really want to do for a life? I got this great opportunity to try the new job and new tasks as a volunteer in Bildungsnetzwerk. I had also the chance to meet a lot of new people that became a very important part of my life.

Two days ago me and Andrada started work in Bildungsnetzwerk. But about our impressions and tasks I will tell you in the next note…
