A little more than a week ago I arrived at the Magdeburg Bus Station. It was cold, dark and I had no idea what to expect. A new city, new faces and a new position at the einewelt haus were awaiting me.
The first contact with the other EVS volunteers has been great so far. We have bonded quite nicely and help each other in any way we can in these first few weeks of uncertainty.
Even the burocratic parts of the process have been made quite easy by our EVS tutor, Katrin. She accompanied us to the Bürgerbüro, where all the newcomers to the city are obligated to register, and waited patiently for each one of us to complete the process.
Now that we are starting to adapt to the city I can definitely say that we are quite eager to meet new people, which is why we will be taking part in the Sprachcafé tonight. Personally, I have never taken part in this kind of language café before, so I´m definitely excited to see how it goes!
